What's Happening Now at Vintage Senior Living!
Hello Everyone,
This past Wednesday Vintage Gardens South hosted a luncheon for ten members of the St. Joseph Senior Advisory board. The members of the board are nominated and appointed by the city council and are responsible for reporting to the council about all organizations and activities within the senior population in St Joseph, and are advocates for seniors in Northwest Missouri. After lunch the group toured our residence which gave us the opportunity to show case all of the services offered here and the unique offerings such as the Strong Life program. After the tour they learned more about Vintage@ Home and took a tour of the Vintage Oaks Villas.
Have a great weekend!!

Some people have a passion for cooking or gardening and some people have a passion for history. That is the case for a couple of the Vintage Oaks residents, so when they heard that Joe Houts was going to do a lecture about the Civil War, they were there. Joe Houts is a local banker for Commerce Bank, but he is also a huge Civil War buff and the author of two books about the Civil War. Mr. Houts told us that he was inspired at the age of 7 while watching a re-enactment of a Civil War battle. He was also inspired from his grandmother's attic which housed a ton of actual letters and pictures from the Civil War era, which were his great grandparents possessions. Through all of this memorabilia, he found that his great grandfather was actually a Civil War doctor and he had saved all of his records.
History is always so interesting to hear, but especially when it can be related to the area that you live in. We love it when we can learn something new while enjoying the company of our neighbors.
God Bless,

Hi Everyone,
Once a month the Vintage Gardens North Bumblebees take on the Vintage Gardens South Bluebirds in a Wii Bowling Tournament. Whoever wins gets to house the beautiful Wii Bowling Trophy at their residence until the next tournament. The North Bumblebees won the trophy back during the last tournament and are hoping to keep it this month. That won't be easy, as the Bluebirds are super competitors! Both teams greatly enjoy the exercise and socialization this event provides. Win or lose, they have fun!
Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless You.
