What's Happening Now on the Vintage Senior Living Campus
This past Tuesday, the unseasonably warm weather enticed our residents to go on an outing. They elected to go to 54th Street Bar & Grill. Our residents love the atmosphere at 54th Street, along with the delectable cuisine and nice variety of entrees. The choices pleased everyone and all their appetites were satisfied! It was a perfect time for the residents to solidify current friendships and to make new ones, as they visited over lunch. Most importantly, they all had a great time!
Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless You.

February is "Healthy Heart Month and with the first week of February right around the corner, Vintage Gardens South residents are looking for ways to be heart healthy. "Strong Life " director Ida Caw has developed exercise activities that complement the classes offered daily in our Wellness Center. This weeks activity involved a Baby Heart Bear who traveled all around the buillding keeping residents moving for two days. Residents were given a list of suites that showed the path the bear would take around the building. Everyone had so much fun getting connected while helping the bear travel from suite to suite all around the building to its destination in the Wellness Center.

Vintage Oaks residents love volunteering whenever they are needed and this week the National Association of Farm Broadcasting used our willingness to help out and had us work on some things they will need for an upcoming meeting. We stuffed about 150 nametags for the association. It wasn't hard work, but it gave a couple of ladies a wonderful chance to visit and enjoy some coffee together. It really didn't matter what they would have been doing, they just enjoy each others company and like catching up. We didn't have to leave the luxury of our gorgeous clubhouse, which was nice since it is so cold, but we still felt the satisfaction of helping others, anyway. If you know of something we could help out with, please let us know. We are always looking for ways we can help others. You can call Beth Brand, Exec. Director for The Villas at Vintage Oaks, at 816-752-4365. Have a wonderful weekend!
God Bless,

Happy 2012!!
Vintage Gardens South Assisted Living " Strong Life Program' presents " Walking for a New You in the New Year. " With the start of a new year Strong Life director Ida Caw looks for ways to keep those who live here moving and engaged inside during the normally cold temperatures outside. This year residents search for paper Teddy bears that are placed in certain spots all around the building each day in a kind of scavenger hunt. Once a bear is found, residents return the bears to Ida who is keeping track of how many Teddy bears each resident locates. Everyone has had so much fun getting connected while sharing clues as to where the bears mught be. The competition will wrap up next Frideay with prizes given to the top five "Bear Hunters".
