testHello Everyone,

Vintage Gardens South resident Laura Bowen is always scouring different cookbooks and magazines for dishes that are not the usual faire. In the past few weeks our cook, Joyce Woosley has prepared several entrees from Laura's recipes for all of us to enjoy. Last week it was Mandarin Orange Chicken and last evening everyone enjoyed Gnocchi & Smoked Turkey with Pineapple and Melon over baby spinach. Residents have had so much fun trying out these new gormet dishes, and Laura is delighted to see those that live here enjoying the delicious meals. The good news is there are lots of recipes and we can't wait to try them out.

Have a great weekend!!

Vintage Oaks residents sure are looking forward to getting out and about more and the temperatures this last week have made us all a little "antsy." Being couped up inside has long become old and we are all looking forward to getting out in the nice Spring air...just to take a little walk around the neighborhood. As the weather gets a little warmer, Vintage Oaks residents will be starting a walking club. The residents hope to walk three times a week, at a minimum. Some will walk every morning/afternoon, but as a goal, we hope to get out three times a week for at least 15 minutes at a time. We all want to be stronger and we know that walking is a good source for doing that. So be watching for some pictures as the weather gets warmer and we start our walking club.

God Bless,

Beth

Hi Everyone,

Our Strong Life Director, Michelle Conard, has been leading a special class called PACE that focuses on exercises for residents with arthritis. It has been so popular and beneficial that Michelle has started an advanced PACE class twice weekly. Our first class had 13 residents participating and 3 other dresidents saying they will attend the next class. In PACE II the residents are introduced to exercising with a Theraband which is a stretchy material that they pull on as they stretch different muscles. The residents also had a lot of fun playing with the Therabands and trying to "snap" each other! It's a great class for getting stronger, getting healthier, and getting connected!

Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless You.
