Great ideas. My favorite is the grandparents as peacemakers:
"Mediator/peacemaker - There are times when a level-headed grandparent needs to step in between siblings, spouses, parents/children, or other strained relationships. And sometimes, it's easier to take a scolding from Grandpa rather than Dad."
