Hello Everyone,

Vintage Gardens South residents took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather to visit ten historic properties in the downtown St. Joseph area. " Strong Life" director Ida Caw, a local history buff led the tour and had a story to tell about the origin and lineage of each property visited.

Of special note on the tour was the R.T. Davis home, the founder of Aunt Jemima pancake flour, the Frank Sommer house and factory located at 914 Main St. Sommer was the inventor of the Saltine cracker. The factory had a special meaning for tour attendee Glenna Yarnell who had her first job there when she was 18 years old.The group enjoyed getting connected while taking this trip down memory lane.
