VGN: Independence Day Celebration!
Hi Everyone,
Last night at dinner we had a wonderful Independence Day celebration! This is an annual event where our residents may each invite up to two quests for dinner. We had so many guests that all of our extra tables were needed and we brought in 7 card tables as well. The tablecloths, napkins & plates, centerpieces and balloons were all red, white & blue for a patriotic theme. We dined on all-american food consisting of cheeseburgers, potatoe salad, baked beans, watermelon, lemonade, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. It was delicious! The entertainment for the evening was provided by the J Boys, who are Jonathan & Jackson Stickler. This is the third time they have performed for us and the residents are always amazed at the young boy's talent. They sang, danced, and played the guitar, violin and piano. All of the songs were patriotic and many of the residents and guests were clapping their hands or tapping their feet to the music! Everyone had a great time! One resident told me she couldn't decide which she liked best, the food or entertainment! She said they were both fantastic! See below for pictures of this celebration.
Have a safe and happy Independence Day and God Bless You.
Best Regards,
Patty Mathews
