Most women, at some time or another, have learned to knit, crochet or embroider.  Some women will use their skills for a  lifetime and others will give them up because they don't like it, find it boring or maybe they weren't good at it.  Several women at Vintage Oaks have honed in on their talents and have become quite good at their chosen pasttime.  Most of these women do a little bit of all the handwork that I mentioned but a few will only do one.

Mary Lou Folk has become very skilled in embroidery, hardanger, blue work, knitting and much, much more.  Recently, Mary Lou, hosted our Monday, Stitchery Time, and showed all of us her amazing skills in all of her works.  She explained the process of all of the works and how long it took to finish them.  Many of them took a year to complete and the pieces were absolutely stunning.  Her works are framed and hung all over in her Villa and displays all of them, nicely.  Some of her pieces were very expensive to make and frame, but none of them can be worth the time that she has put into them.  She truly amazes all of us with her talents.  Thank you, Mary Lou, for being so gracious with your works and time to show and explain what it is you love to do.  Have a great weekend!

God Bless,

Beth Brand
