Vintage Oaks Helps Out Operation Christmas Child
I know it is hard to think about Christmas, quite yet, but this week we started getting in the spirit by shopping and filling shoe boxes with goodies for children all over the world. What a blessing it was to be able to privide Operation Chirstmas Child with 14 shoe boxes filled to the brim with games, school supplies, candy, toys, brushes, combs, toothbrushes and toothpaste, books and blankets. It was so fun to look for things that would fit in the box and to try to imagine what child would get your box and how excited they were going to be to have a box filled with treasures from a land so far away, filled with special gifts just for him. We had many residents that provided money so we could shop and one resident who helped put all of the boxes together and fill them. She and I turned on the Christmas music and just had a great time. If you ever get the opportunity to bless a child or two or three, from another country who is much less fortunate than you, please do. It means the world to them and will make you feel pretty darn good about yourself, also. Have a great weekend!
God Bless,
