AgeWell Tip #23: When exercising, push yourself; but not too hard.
There is a delicate balance between pushing yourself hard enough to gain the needed benefits from exercise, and pushing yourself too hard where injury risk increases.
One easy guideline: during a workout you should still be able to talk in complete sentences and not be totally out of breath. "Listen to your body", and most of the time it will tell you if you are pushing too hard.
